Autumn Leaves and Pinecone

This is a still life that I made on a day whe light was good for closeup photography but not the grand landscape.  As a photographer, I often chase the light, hoping to capture that fleeting magic moment on film.  For each of those moments, there are many hours, days, and weeks spent in the field.  Excellent close up photography  can be shot when you don't have epic light conditions. One day, while passing the time in the field, I became fascinated with the subtlelties and textures of the different leaves.  I made a pile of leaves and photographed it.  It became my favorite image from that trip.  Nikon 35mm camera.  Fuji Velvia Film.
