Western Tanager
A male Western Tanager perches on a branch on Montana's Big Hole River during the spring Salmonfly hatch. The only place that I've been able to see these beautiful birds with some consistancy is on the Big Hole river when they arrive to feast on Salmonfly hatch in June. I was lucky enough to have time to focus on this one as he breifly paused on this branch along the river.
